FAQ

What is the difference between a full service and limited service hotel?

1. Limited-service hotels are properties that offer select or focused facilities and amenities, typically without a full-service restaurant. These hotels are often in the Economy, Midscale or Upper Midscale segments. Limited-service hotels are often labeled “budget-friendly” and, because of their focused level of services and amenities, require smaller operational staffs (STR).

2. Full Service Hotel: Typically Upscale, Upper Upscale and Luxury properties with a wide variety of onsite amenities, such as restaurants, meeting spaces, exercise rooms or spas.

Who can use this service?

This service is designed for anyone in the hotel industry, including:

Property companies
Operating companies
Operators
Franchisees
Asset managers

No matter your hotel’s structure, this report provides valuable insights for local teams and offers clear accountability & roadmaps for owners, asset managers, and franchise operators.

How do we decide what topics to report on?

We follow the “Comply or Explain” principle:

If a topic is relevant, it will be reported.
If it is not relevant to your business, you can explain why, rather than conducting a full materiality assessment.

This ensures flexibility while maintaining transparency.

How long is the report?

Each report is approximately 5 pages per asset, providing a detailed yet concise analysis.

What is the base year, and will data be compared?

The base year is the first year of reporting.
Comparative data will be included starting in year two, enabling year-over-year analysis and trend tracking.
